The basis for this information can be found in the book Mental Science By Emma Curtis Hopkins
In the last chapter, we moved to the realization that we are all seeking our Good. We also know that our Good is our God. This is a pivotal point in spiritual consciousness. We know that GOD wants us to have our GOOD.
We also moved to the awareness that it is up to the individual to describe what their “Good” represents in their own consciousness. Remember, it will take time and dedication to move into the realization that all the Good you want to see demonstrated is captured in your perception of God.
We need to also understand that God wants us to demonstrate our Good right now. When we know and focus on God and use the five negations, we see instant demonstrations. The material veil is removed. We move from the material to the spiritual realm. All the promises of God have already manifested – we need only lift the veil of materiality to see and accept what God has already given to us.
Remember that to deny is to eliminate. Ms. Hopkins writes, “The secret of freedom is in knowing what ideas are prejudices and should be dropped out of mind.”
If your idea is not demonstrating your Good, or Good for humanity, it should be dropped out of mind. Thoughts that don’t produce Good will often stay like unwanted guests. If this is true, why do we converse with people we don’t want in our house? In simpler terms, why do we consider thoughts and keep thoughts in our mind that do not serve us or humanity? Why, because, we are in the material world and as stated earlier, we think that we are not worthy of our Good.
Remember when we don’t see our Good, or don’t believe we are worthy of the Good God has promised, we are practicing “ideas of absence.” Our protests against these ideas are called “denials.”
As a youth, we have all had to sit through lectures on science. We learned from these classes that all science has negation and affirmations. In the last chapter we listed the five negations and Ms. Hopkins has five affirmations that correspond with the negations.
We must use them in sequence to get the metaphysical results. Ms. Hopkins states, “there is no use making the affirmations until we have made the denials.”
We must clear our consciousness with denials before we affirm the truth. “They have not taken their unreasonable prejudices by names and told the reasons why they are free from such claims against them,” states Ms. Hopkins. With denials, you are retraining your thinking in Mind; you are waking up spirit and opening up the portal for your Good. You are embracing your power to know your true relationship with God. Remember, James said, “the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availed much.”
The five universal affirmations are:
- My Good is my God. My God is Life, Truth, Love, Substance, Intelligence – omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent.
- In God I live, and move and have my being.
- I am Spirit, Mind, Wisdom, Strength, and Wholeness.
- The I AM works inevitably through me to will and to do that which ought to be done by me.
- I am governed by the law of God and cannot sin or fear sin, sickness, or death.
These affirmations are to be used daily, then weekly, then monthly until they are embraced by consciousness.
