The basis for this information can be found in the book Mental Science By Emma Curtis Hopkins
How Demonstrations are done
- State the principle
- Reject whatever contradicts those propositions
- Rally every idea that confirms your propositions
- Tell our relation to the proposition, as to why and wherefore our lot in life is as it is and may become what we please.
Jesus called this fourth step, Faith. “According to thy faith be it done unto thee.”
Moses stated, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters.” Ms. Hopkins writes, “Ment”– means mind, from the Latin word “Mens.” She calls a firm mind “Faith.”
She states we must show firmness (faith) in all challenges and know the truth about the challenge or appearance.
Jesus states, “According to thy faith be it unto thee.” This means you already are aware of the Good outcome. Faith is a byproduct of your spiritual awareness. With faith, you will not lose focus that God wants you to see your manifested Good that he has already dispensed to you. It is this denial of your Good or lack of Faith that stops the demonstration. You must be firm in your awareness of your Good.
Jesus states, “Thy faith has made thee whole.” Your faith has cured you. Your faith has led you to your new employment. Your faith has led you to that perfect relationship. Your faith has led you to whatever was absent in your life.
The challenge is that we sometimes really don’t know what or who we are to have faith in. Are we supposed to have faith in our job, because we get a check but when there is downsizing, have we lost faith in our ability to find employment again? When our relationship ends, and we identified with this individual so strongly, have we lost faith in our ability to love again? When we get a diagnosis from the doctor and we are told news that is hard to hear, have we lost faith in our bodies?
Yes, this is how the natural man reacts. We have been living in the material world for so long; there is confusion on how to have “faith” in challenging times. We go to church on Sunday, and Bible study midweek. Some of us go to twelve step groups, therapists, chakra specialists, practitioners, rabbis or ministers. I believe all of these methods will work for you or bring solace and enlighten you at some point.
In regards to Faith, we must have faith in God. We must have faith in God and God alone. Other methods cannot help us with our faith in God. Faith in God is a personal relationship.
Ms. Hopkins writes, “Thus we have faith in the Good as cutting out our life conditions just right for us, no matter how much evil there seems to be operating against us. God is Life. Thus we are to have confidence in Life as the outcome, no matter how death may seem to act. Life will win. We must be firm on this point. God is truth. We must believe that the truth about the Good will act anyhow. We must be sure of it.” Moses said, “Be firm.” Paul said, “Stand.” Jesus said, “Thy faith hath saved thee.”
So do an inventory about your life. See which appearance of lack you experiencing. Then tell the truth about it and be firm.
Remember, faith means to be firm. Faith brings demonstrations.
Remember firmness to any principle will expose the spiritual power of the principle.
Ms. Hopkins writes, “All great remedies discovered by man have owed their curative energies to the continuous confidence of some firm mind. Faith in Goodness will feed itself and increase itself in the same way, till we rise and work miracles by reason of it. “
So with faith we can heal, cure, and experience the greater Good that God has blessed us with.
Where is your faith? Who do you have faith in? Which God do you pray to?
When you have unwavering faith in G God, you will experience the twelve effects of thinking in spirit.
